The Central Penn Knights men’s soccer season begins Saturday, Aug. 11, with an away game against Patrick Henry College in Virginia.

What is the team looking forward to this year? Continuing to improve, says their coach.

“We improved last year and I only see the team getting better as time goes on,” says Coach Tom Birch. “We are a young team and some of the new recruits are talented and hungry for success. The team is ready to take on any one that doubts them.”

Captains for the 2016 Knights soccer team are Mark Swope and Greg Walker. Both are juniors with plans to graduate in 2017.

Swope, a homeland security management student, plays offensive midfield. Swope is from Dillsburg, Pa. and graduated from Northern High School.

Walker, a computer information systems student, plays defensive midfield and center back.

The Knights’ first home game is Saturday, Sept. 10 against Penn State Schuylkill at 3 p.m. All of the Knights’ home games will be played at Veteran’s Park, 1955 Elmerton Avenue in
Harrisburg, Pa.
