Knights Baseball in the Community

"During the month of August, several Central Penn College baseball players partnered with the United Calvary Methodist Church in Dauphin County to volunteer at the community food pantry. The Knights assisted with stocking shelves, helping families shop, and supporting the day-to-day operations of the pantry. Over the course of four weeks, the team worked together to provide food and resources to nearly 200 families in need.

For the Knights, experiences like this go beyond community service—they are foundational building blocks of the program. As coaches, we consistently preach to our athletes the importance of giving back and being the change that is needed. Volunteering at the pantry gave our players the chance to put those values into action.

Many student-athletes shared that this was their first time participating in a social program like a food pantry. Several even expressed interest in continuing this type of work in their own hometowns, recognizing the lasting impact they can have off the field.

The Knights are committed to not only growing as athletes, but also as leaders and community members. This service opportunity served as a reminder that true success comes from lifting others up and leaving a positive mark wherever you are." Head Coach Chaz Stevens
