Coach Martin's nomination:
I am nominating Anthony McClinton Jr., for Male Student Athlete of the Month.
Anthony began the 2024-2025 basketball season as a returning player for the Knights with very high expectations. All of Anthony's goals were team based. Anthony wanted the team to win the ESAC Conference Championship and to qualify for the National Tournament. Never have I heard Anthony say I, it has always been we and team. Anthony began the season playing in the role as a shooting guard/big guard forward. He has played those positions well for the Knights. Whether he was a starter or a player coming off the bench, he gave the team 100 percent effort. When Anthony wasn't on the court, he would encourage and motivate his teammates. Anthony would let me know that he is ready to play whenever I am ready for him to play.
Anthony has been moved to the point guard position and he has been playing it well. He has been averaging 18 points per game and rebounding well.
In the classroom, Anthony is a communications major. He is looking forward to graduation and beginning his work career. Anthony is looking forward to playing the remainder of the basketball season with hopes of winning The ESAC Championship.
Congratulations, Ant! Go Knights!
