Lions Tamed at Skyline, Knights Down Penn State Schuylkill

HARRISBURG, PA. – Central Penn's men's soccer team celebrated Homecoming with a 4-1 victory over Penn State Schuylkill (2-10) Friday evening at Skyline Sports Complex in the second game of a double header with our women’s program. 

GAME SUMMARY

Central Penn (11-2-1, 5-0 Conference) took an early lead and ended up scoring the only goal of the first half with Jake Philippe scoring at 26:50 giving the Knights the 1-0 lead heading into the half. Central Penn won the shot matchup in the first half 8-1.

Penn State Schuylkill would come out aggressive and strike first in the second half, scoring in just over a minute to tie the match at 1-1. However, the Knights responded and would take control for the remainder of the half scoring three more goals (Dylan Luong assisted by Blake Eiserman 48:56, Jake Philippe 84:01, and Adam Youssef assisted by Jake Philippe 87:12) to win the game 4-1. 

The Knights held a 23-4 advantage in shots, putting 10 on frame against just 3 from Penn State Schuylkill.

NOTABLES

- The Knights are 5-0 in ESAC play heading into Sunday’s matchup with Bucks.

- The Knights are still ranked #9 in the USCAA Week 4 Coaches Poll and now sit at #5 in the USCAA Standings.

WHO'S NEXT?

The Knights take on rival Bucks County Community College Sunday afternoon. Kickoff is set for 12 pm in Newtown, PA.
