Men’s Soccer Shuts Out The Blue Jays on Senior Day

HARRISBURG, PA. – Central Penn's men's soccer team celebrated Senior Day with a 1-0 victory over Manor College (4-6-2, 3-2 Conference) Wednesday evening at Skyline Sports Complex.  

GAME SUMMARY

Central Penn (10-2-1, 5-0 Conference) broke open an evenly matched game late in the second half to emerge victorious over Manor College and nab a valuable conference victory on Wednesday evening with less than a week remaining in the regular season.

After more than 85 minutes of scoreless soccer, Jake Philippe (Assisted by Adam Youssef) broke the scoreless tie with a pretty goal. 

Senior 2022 USCAA Academic All-American Goalkeeper Andrew Hunter had thirteen saves on thirteen shots on goal. 

NOTABLES

- The Knights are now 5-0 in ESAC play.

- The shutout was the 5th of the season for Central Penn.

- The Knights are ranked #9 in the USCAA Week 3 Coaches Poll and now sit at #6 in the USCAA Standings.

SENIOR DAY

Prior to Wednesday’s game, Central Penn College recognized its three seniors from the men’s soccer class of 2023 in Andrew Hunter, Amson Charleston, and Jake Philippe.

The Knights take on Penn State Schuylkill Friday evening in a double header with the women for Homecoming. Kickoff is set for 7 pm at Skyline Sports Complex.
