Men’s Soccer Falls to Manor in ESAC Championship

HARRISBURG, PA. – #5/#8 Central Penn Knights dropped a 4-3 heartbreaker to Manor College (7-7-2, 4-3 Conference) Saturday evening in the ESAC Championship Game at Skyline.

GAME SUMMARY

Central Penn (12-4-1, 6-1 Conference) had its chances but was unable to find the back of the net at the close of the game Saturday in what would end up being a setback against the Blue Jays.

The Knights got on the board first with two goals from Dylan Luong (10:21, 16:12 assisted by Jacob Philippe). Central Penn’s two goal lead lasted just seven minutes as the Blue Jays got on the board to cut the lead to one goal heading into halftime.

The Blue Jays kept the momentum rolling into the second half scoring the first two goals of the half (49:26, 50:41) and giving them the 3-2 lead. Central Penn wasted little time adding an insurance marker when 16 minutes later, Alija Korkutovic scored to tie the game up at 3-3. But Manor broke through in the 79th minute off a quick pass to Eddie Fortescue Jr. who buried the shot to give Manor the 4-3 lead with 11 minutes to play.

The Knights had some opportunities but could not equalize as the Blue Jays came away with the ESAC Championship with a 4-3 win over the Knights.

Central Penn’s senior goalkeeper Andrew Hunter finished with five saves in the net for the Knights.
