Men's Soccer Settles For A Draw With NDMU

BALTIMORE, MD. - For the first time in as many outings, Central Penn's men's soccer team battled to a draw, ending with a 1-1 final against NCAA Division III Notre Dame College of Maryland in non-conference action on Thursday evening, Sept. 21.

GAME SUMMARY

While Central Penn (6-1-1) was unable to capitalize on a couple of scoring chances in the first half, the Knights turned in a strong defensive effort, keeping the Gators (2-3-1) off the board as well in the first half.

The Gators increased the pressure in the second half, creating several early scoring opportunities. NDMU earned a free kick in the 74th minute from just outside the box where Ruben Wahl kicked in the goal to give NDMU the 1-0 lead.

The Knights tried to immediately respond, creating several quick opportunities. Central Penn’s Greg Conkle scored in the 87th minute on an assist from Adam Youssef, tying the game at one. Central Penn grinded hard to find a second goal but unfortunately ran out of time.
