Men’s Soccer Shuts Out the Blue Jays In Regular Season Finale

HARRISBURG, PA. – Central Penn's men's soccer team closed out the regular season with a 3-0 shutout victory over Manor College (6-7-2, 4-3 Conference) Tuesday evening to finish 6-1 in ESAC play. 

GAME SUMMARY

The visiting Central Penn Knights (12-3-1, 6-1 Conference) used three second half goals to down the hometown Blue Jays in the team’s regular season finale.

Adam Youssef got the scoring started when he put his attempt past Manor’s goalkeeper in the 72nd minute. 

The Knights kept the momentum rolling late in the second half when Amson Charleston doubled the advantage with a score off a feed from Dylan Luong in the 73rd minute. Central Penn wasted little time adding an insurance marker when 11 minutes later, Ben Painter smashed a shot past the goalkeeper to put a cap on the game’s scoring and put things out of reach for the Blue Jays.

Central Penn’s senior goalkeeper Andrew Hunter made 19 saves on 19 shots on goal. 

NOTABLES

- The Knights are set to host the ESAC Championship game on Saturday October 28th.

- The shutout was the 6th of the season for Central Penn.

- The Knights are ranked #11 in the USCAA Week 5 Coaches Poll and now sit at #5 in the USCAA Standings.
