Knights Win Conference Matchup Against Manor
JENKINTOWN, Pa. – Central Penn's men's soccer team bounced back from its draw with Word of Life earning a win against ESAC rival Manor College winning 3-2 on Tuesday, Sept. 9.
Freshman Isaac Melendez netted another goal for his 4th of the season, while Captains Blake Eiserman and Greg Conkle finished with one marker each.
The Knights (3-0-1, 2-0 ESAC) closed out a hard-fought game in the final minutes to come out on top. The home team got on the board 7 minutes into the game when Moussa Cherif fired home a goal assisted by Emiliano Hernandez. The Knights got on the board with a goal from Greg Conkle at the 15-minute mark to tie the game 1-1. Manor would bounce right back less than a minute later with a penalty kick by Sekou Sylla. Junior Blake Eiserman tied the game up with his first goal of the season at 44:20 going into halftime tied up at 2-2. The second half would prove to be a strong defensive effort by both teams until the 82:18 mark when Isaac Melendez scored what would be the final goal of the game and to give the Knights the win 3-2.
