Men’s Soccer Blanks Williamson for their Fourth Win

HARRISBURG, Pa. – Winners of two in a row, Central Penn Knights men’s soccer team started their week off strong with a 5-0 shutout victory over Williamson College of the Trades on Tuesday afternoon, Sept. 16. 

GAME SUMMARY

The game began with the Knights (4-0-1, 3-0 ESAC) applying early pressure, as Isaac Melendez got off the team’s first goal assisted by Greg Conkle in the ninth minute giving the Knights a 1-0 lead. The Knights would stay aggressive on the offensive end with two more goals from Melendez (Assisted by Gio Fusillo) at 23:13 and Greg Conkle (Assisted by Alija Korkutovic) right after at 23:57 going into halftime with a solid 3-0 advantage. 

The second half began with Central Penn continuing its strong defensive and offensive effort, highlighted by Gio Fusillo’s goal (Assisted by Alija Korkutovic) that gave that gave the Knights a 4-0 lead in the 47th minute. Greg Conkle would score the final goal (Assisted by Weston Campbell) a few minutes later to end the game with a 5-0 shutout conference win.

- Freshman Isaac Melendez scores 2 more goals and is at 6 on the season, Greg Conkle also added two goals, and Gio Fusillo scored one in the shutout

The Knights will face ESAC opponent Christendom Saturday September 20th kickoff is set for 3p.m in a doubleheader with our Women’s team who plays right before at 1pm.
