Women’s Soccer Defeats Manor on Senior Day with Team Effort

HARRISBURG, PA. –Central Penn’s Women’s Soccer team earned another shut out 7-0 Senior Day victory over Manor College Monday evening at Skyline Sports Complex.  

GAME SUMMARY

Central Penn (4-2-1, 3-0 in Conference) defeated the Blue Jays (0-4, 0-3 in Conference) behind an offensive clinic, with five different players scoring goals in the game.

Before the game, the program honored its six seniors: Kelly Kieffer, Sydney Bubb, Trinity Etzweiler, Kacie Hoppel, Molly Peters, Teagan Russell. Once the game began, the Lady Knights set the tone in the first half by netting five goals (1. Kacie Hoppel 16:21, 2. Jamylett Lua 21:12, 3. Sydney Bubb 25:36, 4. Trinity Etzweiler assisted by Jamylett Lua 26:40, 5. Kelly Kieffer assisted by Jamylett Lua 44:28) and playing stellar defense. The Lady Knights then went on to score two more goals (6. Jamylett Lua assisted by Teagan Russell 73:19, 7. Sydney Bubb 86:42) in the second half, cruising to their third conference win.

The Lady Knights struck first in this one and often, jumping out to an early 5-0 lead over the Blue Jays. Central Penn was dominant on the defensive end during the first half, limiting Manor to just one shot. The Lady Knights didn’t waste any time getting their offense rolling in the second half adding two more goals that would ultimately secure Central Penn the victory. 

Goalkeeper Alison Quinn made two saves on two shots on goal.

- The Lady Knights bounce back after dropping a game against Penn State Schuylkill on Homecoming night.

- Central Penn is now 3-0 in conference play and currently ranked #11 in the USCAA Standings.

The Lady Knights take on rival Bucks County Community College Tuesday afternoon for their last regular season game. Kickoff is set for 3 pm in Newtown, PA.
