Women’s Soccer Shuts Out Bucks, 4-0

HARRISBURG, PA. – Central Penn's Women's soccer team defeated conference rival Bucks County Community College 4-0 Friday afternoon at Skyline Sports Complex.  

GAME SUMMARY

Despite it being the first conference game, Central Penn (2-1-1) Central Penn was able to overcome the Centurions thanks to goals from 3 different players on the afternoon.

The Lady Knights opened the scoring just a few minutes into the game with a goal from Teagan Russell assisted by Jamylett Lua (7:29).

Midway through the game and at the start of the second half, Jamylett Lua took the pass from Kacie Hoppel and was able to maneuver one past the Centurions goalkeeper Taylor Kaufmann. Later in the second half, the Lady Knights scored two more goals off plays that were in close range to the Bucks CCC net, as Kacie Hoppel (63:20) and Jamylett Lua’s (86:55) markers extended the lead to 4-0 which would end up being the final.

Our game today was our “PINK OUT” match to help support breast cancer awareness, our team wore pink socks for this contest! Central Penn College partnered with local organization Feel Your Boobies Foundation which focuses on breast health and cancer awareness for young women under the age of 40. Proceeds from concessions were donated to the FYB Foundation. 

On nine shots on goal, goalkeeper Alison Quinn made nine saves. 

NOTABLES

- The Lady Knights are now 2-1-1 on the season with this being their first conference win.

- Back-to-back shut out wins. 

WHO'S NEXT?

The Lady Knights will resume conference play on Tuesday, Oct. 17th at Manor College. Kickoff is set for 3:30 pm.
