Women’s Soccer Stretches Winning Streak to Three Straight

JENKINTOWN, PA. – Thanks to a great team effort on the road, Central Penn’s Women’s Soccer team extended its recent winning streak to three games with a 4-2 victory over Manor College Tuesday evening in Jenkintown, PA. 

GAME SUMMARY

Central Penn (3-1-1, 2-0 in Conference) scored early and often during Tuesday's road matchup, outshot their opponents 44-11, and was able to secure a valuable conference victory.

The Lady Knights were the aggressors early, having two different players reach the back of the net (Kacie Hoppel 2 (Both assists from Melody Cordon), and Jamylett Lua 1 assisted by Kacie Hoppel) giving them a 3-0 lead by the 16:44 mark. Manor College would end up scoring on a direct kick from Myla Keller at 21:37.

The Lady Knights applied constant pressure on the Blue Jays, earning 14 corner kicks, and getting off 31 shots on goal but their final goal wouldn’t come until midway through the second half on a goal by Teagan Russell (Assisted by Jamylett Lua). Manor’s Sylvania Juste scored their second and final goal of the game at 60:46 as the final score was 4-2 in favor of Central Penn. 

Goalkeeper Alison Quinn had five saves on seven shots on goal.

- The Lady Knights are on a three-game winning streak heading into Homecoming.

- Central Penn is now 2-0 in conference play and currently ranked #5 in the USCAA Standings.

The Lady Knights take on Penn State Schuylkill in a double header with our men’s team for Homecoming Friday afternoon. Kickoff is set for 5 pm at Skyline Sports Complex.
