Celebrating Womens Soccer on Senior Night

On Tuesday, October 8, 2024, the Central Penn Women’s Soccer team honored their six seniors. This year’s senior class included Madalyn Brymesser, Melody Cordon-Cota, Karen Kirby, Taegen McCoy, Kaylin Sundin, and Brandi Swinton. 

Even though our opponent for the match cancelled at the last minute, we played an intra-squad game that was competitive and fun. The match was still attended by parents, family, friends, college staff and players from our men’s athletic teams. 

Central Penn President Linda Fedrizzi was there to present the seniors with their gifts which made it a special event for our seniors, players, and coaching staff.

Coach Grubesky said, “Although the game was cancelled, I am glad that we could still have the event to honor our senior class. In addition to our team captains, we stress the importance of having our seniors be key team leaders as well. This group of seniors has performed well in that leadership role this season.” 

Grubesky added, “Having Dr. Fedrizzi, other college administrators, and staff members, there along with parents, other supporters and fans enabled us to still make it a special day for our seniors.” 

According to Coach Grubesky, “I also appreciate the efforts of Kasey, Kenton, Andrew, and the rest of the Game Day crew to create a great atmosphere for our Senior Night and for us to hold our Maroon team versus Black team scrimmage.”
